KN95 mask, also known as KN95 respiratory protection mask.
KN95 mask is a filter type protective mask that is usually produced and used in China. In some cases or for some people, KN95 masks may be more desirable, especially for situations that require long-term close contact with non-residents, or for people at high risk of severe COVID19.
Selection conditions of disposable protective mask:
Choose the KN95 mask that meets the requirements of the CDC National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) respiratory protection mask. Some KN95 masks sold in the United States meet similar requirements as NIOSH, while other KN95 masks do not.
Features:
There are usually ear hooks that fit behind the ears, but some masks come with head straps.
Note: Do not wear KN95 masks with an exhalation valve, because they can escape virus-containing respiratory droplets.
Advantages: It can filter up to 95% of the particles in the air (provided that they meet the correct requirements and are not counterfeit/fake products, and achieve a proper fit).
Disadvantages: may feel uncomfortable; usually requires vigorous breathing; may be more expensive and difficult to obtain; specially designed for one-time use; many of the KN95 masks available on the market are counterfeit (fake) products, sometimes difficult only by appearance Identify whether they meet the correct requirements. At least 60% of the KN95 masks assessed by NIOSH do not meet the requirements that they claim to meet.
Other considerations: It may be difficult to maintain a proper fit with certain types of facial hair.
The epidemic has not stopped. We cannot relax our vigilance, take personal protection, and protect others for our own benefit.
